Kaito Winse
Kaito Winse comes from a family of griots in Burkina Faso. From an early age, he was raised in the traditions of his family in the village of Lankoué, in the Sourou region of northern Burkina Faso.
Kaito is an extraordinary performer, musician, and dancer whose infectious energy immediately captivates audiences. His music is both powerful and hypnotic, flowing directly from the heart and soul. He plays a wide range of instruments, from his voice and the calabash to the mouth bow, the kora, and the tama (talking drum).
Writing for the Portuguese newspaper Público, Mariana Duarte described Winse as one of the “most electrifying vocalists we have seen in recent years — he sings, he dances, he leaps from one instrument to another.”
He was nominated for the Belgian Worldwide Music Network Awards in the Best Live Performance category. In February 2025, he released his second album, Reele Bumbu, through the labels Rebel Up and Zephyrus Records.
