Rodrigo Cuevas
Rodrigo Cuevas from Spain is considered the most unclassifiable artist of the moment, he has won numerous awards, including the UIMP La Barraca Award, a finalist in two categories at the 2025 Music Awards and four others in 2024, the 2023 National Current Music Award, the 2021 RNE Ojo Crítico de Música Moderna Award, the 2020 MIN Awards for "Best New Artist" and "Best Fusion and World Music Album," among many others. Rodrigo Cuevas (Oviedo, 1985) is a phenomenon in the performing arts and also in communication in its broadest sense.
He presents himself as a source of "folkloric and electronic excitement, a star of the countryside, humor, elegant eroticism, hedonism, and the celebration of non-negotiable rights." Cuevas is part of a new generation of Spanish artists who look to tradition for the arguments to present to the future. And apparently these arguments carry the right weight.
He proposes a concert prepared ad hoc for the CDNM's Fronteiras cycle, which was subsequently only performed on a few occasions.
He confronts himself, truly more naked than a naturist, using the voice as the main instrument of the proposal (that flow that serves both to sing and to tell, that voice that emanates from a body that always remains something more than a circumstance, a molded body that never ceases to be the main protagonist of the scene, also with its theatricality and dance, with its generous display of nuances or, well, in its sober statism);
