IN FUNCHAL CITY - Carnival spirit returns to cheer up Funchal’s downtown.
For a week, the season’s rhythms, called upon the sounds of marches and philharmonic bands, will turn Funchal into a stage of joy, party, satire and amusement.
The 2 highlights of this week are the great Carnival Parade on the 18th , which brings together close to a thousand participants in a unique colour that lightens up the main streets of Funchal and the shrove Tuesday,on the 21st, with the "Slapstick Parade".

From April 19th to 25th FLOWER FESTIVAL |
IN FUNCHAL CITY - The Flower Festival is more than just a tribute to the flowers of the Madeira Islands. It provides the opportunity to keep genuine Madeiran traditions alive.
Sunday the 22nd brings the big event: the Grand Flower Parade. Hundreds of flower-themed floats and characters will make their way through the city in lavish style to the sound of music.

IN FUNCHAL CITY - The Atlantic Festival will be kicking off this summer combining many different initiatives throughout the whole of June. Of particular note are the Madeira Firework Festival and the entertainment planned in the lower town of Funchal, with the Start of Summer Shows, the Classic Motor Show and the Madeira Music Festival with many interesting classic and world music concerts in most emblematic venues of the island.

IN FUNCHAL CITY - Funchal Jazz Festival has become a big event in Madeira Island taking place in the beautiful Parque of Santa Catarina. Featuring many famous international artists, it first took place in 2000 and has significantly grown since then. Organized by the Municipal Council of Funchal, this Festival is an annual event hosted in the first week of July and complemented by different events spread thought out the city.
