An experimental musician with a legion of fans all over the world among Indie and other new trends. Particular reference is due to the project of Alex Zhang Hung-Tai, who gets embroiled by the rock ‘n’ roll psychotic spirit or pop features of the 50s and 60s.
The music of Dirty Beaches (which is in reality Alex Zhang and a group of musicians who are always changing, depending on the needs and the mood of its creator) captures a kind of loneliness, isolation and ambiguity since the first album of 2009, even though we clearly sense influences from the free jazz and new wave.
Restless and multifaceted, Alex Zhang Hung-Tai has been transporting an intense musical form, while embodying Dirty Beaches. Although often profiled as a Punk crooner of open senses and the power of images, we soon realize, however, that abstraction is equally assumed as an essential route in his work.
Dirty Beaches somehow symbolizes the concept our program, the constant search for new trends and sounds, which sometimes becomes undefined by the genre.
In the Estalagem da Ponta do Sol, Alex will be accompanied by the musician Subhayan Roy in duo format, with synthesizers, electric guitar, keyboard and a distorted voice. Many say that each concert from this artist is always different from the previous one, and always a surprise, therefore it will be interesting to check what influence the tropical environment of the island will have in this artist and creator of genius.
